Bizarre Phone Call

January 5, 2007 · 4 Comments

Just an odd note of yesterday’s events – received a call from a co-worker to ask me if an acquaintence of mine was an Axe murderer… she had met him in a local bar in Monterey and they had a dinner date scheduled…

I let her know I didn’t think Lee would murder her, but I did note it odd that Lee was here in Monterey and had not contacted me (his mom lives here)… actually that is not odd… that’s Lee.

When I hear details I will happily pass them on to all that are interested.

“that is not odd… that’s Lee.”

    ex-yak-ly.

Slight correction: Julie & I met in a coffee shop. Meeting – thanks to Ron’s gentle guiding – has resulted in a meaningful connection; Julie will be moving out to Chicago this fall.

    Regards to all,

With all the Wikipedia Woes (see http://news.independent.co.uk/sci_tech/article2874112.ece) I wonder if Lee, Like Dupont/Union Carbide removing Bhophal from it’s Wikipedia reference, is editing his Yak reference from “Bar” to “Coffee Shop” to soften his Yak-ness. “Coffee Shop” is so un-Yak-like but we will have to accept it.

We (that is me speaking as a representative of Stevenson School) do not want to allow Julie to move to Chicago, we would rather Lee move to Monterey….. can we work on that?

Hope Little Rhody is treating you well and we see you soon.

    Ron,

Your Wiki parallel just underscores the difficulties we all face in a post-modernist world; after all, would you like to assert there is one source of Truth? If so, what Truth would that be? Even if it was the Truth of Yak, would that not be a wee bit dogmatic from someone else’s point of view?

You see, there are risks of being a Dean….

And your other comment – that my truthful recollection is un-Yak-like – well it positively reeks of identity politics. Quite Rovian of you, I must say.

    Could win Ohio, however….

Lets dispense of the name calling & politics of polarization and celebrate a brother’s bliss.

    :-)
